Biography: Corinna Morgan

Corinna MorganCorinna Morgan was born on March 15, 1970 to Reginald and Latrisha Morgan in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father works for the Memphis Department of Public Works and her mother is a bookkeeper for a Memphis glue and plastics factory. Her younger sister, Adrianne, is currently a graduate student at Memphis State University.

Morgan attended East High School in Memphis, graduating in 1989. She then attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, obtaining a degree in marketing in 1994. She was the secretary of the Black Student Association and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

When Morgan returned to Oxford for the fall semester in 1993 after spending the summer at home in Memphis, she decided to find a part-time job outside the university environment. During the two previous academic years, she had worked in the university's business school office. She responded to Cupid's Couples' ad for an experienced secretary. After interviewing with co-owners Trudi Dyer and Kelly Clinton, Morgan was hired and began working part-time at Cupid's Couples in September 1993. Her duties included helping manage client files and arrange dates, as well as helping the owners keep track of their schedules.

In the spring of 1994, Cupid's Couples' full-time secretary Natasha Van Moore decided to leave the company to start her own business. Since Morgan was scheduled to graduate from Ole Miss at the end of the spring semester, Van Moore agreed to stay on until that time and train Morgan to take over her position. In June of 1994, Morgan began working as Cupid's Couples full-time secretary, a position that she held until February of 2000 when she was fired for stealing client files.

On February 11, 2000, Morgan was found in possession of ten confidential client files, which Kelly Clinton discovered in her briefcase. Morgan denied any wrongdoing in regard to the files but was told she would have to leave, and she was released with one month's pay.

Since leaving Cupid's Couples, Morgan has taken a job as a waitress at Cedars Restaurant until she can find a position better suited to her experience.

Morgan is single and continues to live in the Oxford area.
