Disposition of Call
|
Saturday, 10/11/97 - 4:36 pm
Caller, Raymond Innis, San Antonio, TX,
called. Claims he called two days ago and
reported seeing Pierce in the area and says he
deserves part of the reward. Checked the logs
and find no call from him or his telephone
number.
|
Reported call to Detective Nelson, Sheriff's
office. He also said he had no record of any
call from this man. Spoke to the 911 dispatcher
just in case the call was routed to them. No
such person ever called.
Followup: Since Pierce wasn't captured in San
Antonio and the girl wasn't recovered, no reward
is due anyway.
|
Sunday, 10/12/97 11:07 a.m.
Mr. R of Oxford called and said he is going
to sue the Sheriff for not paying the reward to
his wife for seeing Pierce in Charleston. I
explained to him that Macy has not been
recovered and Pierce is not in custody. Tried to
get through to him that the "tip" was not valid
information. Said he won't call again but his
attorney will.
|
Information on possible lawsuit referred to
Sheriff Lamar's office to handle.
Prior notation: Explained to caller that her
information has not proved to be helpful to the
investigation as there is no other corroborating
evidence that the suspects were in Charleston
and that to receive the reward, the information
has to lead to the safe return of Macy Lamar.
Caller is very upset and says the reward is
"phony" but wants to remain in "contention."
|
Sunday, 10/12/97 4:16 p.m.
Madame Raylene called again. Said she
conducted a séance last night and spoke
to someone who has seen Macy on the "other
side." However, she said that her "source" had
not proved to be reliable in the past. She
stated that she hears coins during the
séances.
|
Explained that the reward is for information
leading the safe return of Macy Lamar, which has
not occurred and that there is no other
information that Macy Lamar is deceased.
Relayed "tip" to Det. Nelson who laughed.
|
Wednesday, 10/15/97 10:53 am

cream on 10/7/97 at about 8:00 pm.
|
Advised caller that Phelps is dead, but that
I will pass on the information. Call referred to
Detective Nelson for followup.
Followup notation:Det. Nelson said he contacted
caller and information was not related to this
case. Two men and two women do not match andy
descriptions of the suspects/victim.
