Evidence: Ballistic Testing

A .22 caliber handgun was used in the murders of Valerie Wilson and Greg Giblin. A different weapon was used in each of the killings. Markings from the gun barrel appear on the bullet, leaving a unique fingerprint.

A voluntary search of the Knight residence turned up a handgun inside a toolbox. The weapon, a .22 caliber model, is manufactured by Heckler and Koch. It is registered to Frank Knight. There is no indication of recent firing. Internal ballistic testing showed no similar barrel scoring or patterning matching the weapons found at the Giblin and Wilson shootings.
