Greg
Giblini, age 20 at the time of the murder, was born in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is the youngest of three children. His brothers Tom and Bill, own a small
electronics firm in California. Giblini's father works with the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission. His mother teaches high school Computer Science.
According to his parents, Giblini met the victim, Valerie Vilson, while
attending the University of Mississippi during the 1993-94 school year.
Giblini studied theatre at the university . He played a leading role in
"A Few Good Men." Theatre professor, Scott McCoy , described Giblini as
"Quiet." As a hobby, Giblini made short films. Apparently this is how
he began dating the victim.
In December, 1994, Giblini left the university for financial reasons.
At the time of the murder he worked as a production assistant on the many
film crews passing through Nashville. A search of Giblini's apartment
turned up little information. However, his extensive video collection
contained many short films featuring the victim.
