Missing Persons report filed by James and Sandra Taylor.

Interviews conducted with family at station:

Jim Taylor -- background information

Sandra Taylor -- background information

Shane Taylor -- last to see missing persons, dropped off at Big Star 2/2 3:30 a.m.

Telephone Interviews:

Lila Grant, Magnolia Transit Ticket office -- provided name, address, phone number for Roger Jetton, driver has passenger manifest.

Roger Jetton, Magnolia Transit -- manifest shows that Dale and Crystal Taylor were ticketed for 2/2 4:16 a.m. bus, driver states he knows missing persons, did not see them at Eastgate Shopping Center, they did not board bus. Requested manifest copy.

Janet Lacey, American Airlines -- tickets for flight 1439 Memphis to Denver remain unused, confirmed no boarding on 2/2/98 as scheduled

Roger Maynard, Broadmoor Inn -- manager confirms reservation for Dale and Crystal Taylor, confirms they did not check in

Albert Evers, Broadmoor Skating Club -- confirms registration for Dale and Crystal Taylor for period 2/3/98 to 2/17/98 in training camp, they did not arrive and check in, have not heard from them.

Michael Morton, coach -- Memphis, last contact with Dale and Crystal January 31st. Requested list of skating club. No known enemies or altercations with other skaters, fans or others.

John Kennedy, coach -- Memphis, last contact with Dale and Crystal January 31st. No known enemies or altercations with other skaters, fans or others.

Allison Gallagher, choreographer -- Memphis, last contact with Crystal January 30th, last contact with Dale January 27th, provides room and board for both during training in Memphis. No known enemies or altercations with other skaters, fans or others.

Sandra Pullman, choreographer -- Memphis, out of country since January 2nd, return date March 3

February 6, 1998

Interviews conducted:

Margaret Jenkins, friend of Crystal Taylor, at station -- last contact by phone Sunday, February 1, 8:00 p.m.

Christian Chambers, friend of Dale Taylor, 17 Virgina St. -- last contact by phone Sunday, February 1 between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Robert and Margaret Taylor, by phone, Florence, Alabama -- paternal grandparents, last contact by phone January 29th.

Jack Taylor, by phone, Birmingham, Alabama -- paternal uncle, last contact by phone January 17th.

Peck and Carolyn Ross, Bay St. Louis, MS -- maternal grandparents, last contact by phone February 1

Canvas of Eastgate area merchants and residents. Distribution of posters. No witnesses identified, no evidence recovered in search of location.

Canvas of Burger King, dumpsters are emptied daily at 1:00 a.m. Business closed at 9:30 p.m. on 2/1/98.

February 7, 1998

Interviews conducted:

Sherwood, D. -- 102 Pleasant Drive, located diagonally across street from 103 to the northwest. Last saw missing persons on Friday evening, January 30th outside. Reports no knowledge of any arguments, conflict, or unusual activity at Taylor residence. States Taylor's are ìideal neighborsî. No unusual vehicles or activity in neighborhood.

McCaslin, B. -- 105 Pleasant Drive, located next door same side to east, distance 28 feet. States does not know of family to argue, states has seen one altercation between Shane and Jim Taylor last year, around time of arrest, states it was a minor altercation in the driveway with no physical contact. States the Taylor's are good neighbors, quiet. Last saw Dale Taylor on Friday January 30th in drive, last saw Crystal Taylor Sunday afternoon, February 1 in rear yard. Did not hear anything on February 2 between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., states bedroom is on far east corner of home, unlikely they would hear. No unusual vehicles or activity in neighborhood.

Franklin, J. -- 104 Pleasant Drive, last saw Dale and Crystal Taylor on or about January 26 or 27th. Out of town from January 30 through February 2 for birth of grandchild in Jackson, state unaware of any altercations or arguments, state Taylor's are, ìwonderful peopleî. Noticed no unusual vehicles or activity in neighborhood.

 Telephone contacts:

Reached all passengers on Magnolia Transit manifest. No one recalls seeing anyone in the Eastgate lot. Nothing suspicious. One other passenger from Oxford, arrived Big Star at 4:10 a.m. with spouse, no one in vicinity.

February 9, 1998

Background check:

Roger Jetton complete, 20 years service, no record, character interviews conducted, whereabouts check out. Excluded as suspect.

Interviews:

Checks with Browning-Ferris Industries employees on trash pickup 2/1, 2/2, 2/3 Burger King and Eastgate Shopping Center, no luggage and nothing unusual noticed in trash pickup/dump.

Landfill operator, Brice Jennings, nothing unusual noticed.

Search:

Landfill area on Landfill Road, nothing found.

February 10, 1998

Search warrant:

Obtained on vehicle owned and operated by Shane Taylor. Cause -- last known location of missing persons. Lab results returned no evidence of blood. Fibers collected retained.

Interview:

Telephone, Charles Hammel, drug court program, treatment coordinator for Shane Taylor. Progress satisfactory, random testing drug free rate at 87% Phase I period of treatment. Required 85% or above Phase I for program continuation. Currently in Phase II with 98% random drug free testing. Test results week of 1/26 100% drug free, week of 2/2 one positive test. Attendance requirements met 100%. Current treatment assessment indicates potential for successful completion of program resulting in dismissal of possession charges. Phase III ends April 6.

February 12, 1998

Phone records:

Taylor phone records for the period January 17th through February 9th. Records show calls to the Ice Chalet in Memphis, to coaches Kennedy and Morton and to the Gallagher residence. No other Memphis calls, last calls consistent with interviews. Local calls consistent with interviews, to Chambers and Jenkins residence, Magnolia Transit, Travel Ticket outlet. Long distance calls to family members are consistent with interviews and calls regarding training camp in Colorado. All calls appear both consistent and routine. No calling card calls made on Taylor accounts from 2/2 through 2/9.

American Express Traveler's Check Trace: none of the traveler's checks have been cashed, alert in place.

February 17, 1998

State Crime Lab Forensic K-9 Unit Search: Systematic controlled grid search of Eastgate area completed. See K-9 Unit report.

February 18, 1998

Interview:

Shane Taylor re-interviewed regarding argument. Argument details consistent with initial interview. New information/inconsistency: subject states he did not return to Pleasant Drive as stated by 3:45 a.m. on February 2. Subject states he instead went to Dickerson ranch where he smoked marijuana with Dave Woolworth until approximately 5:00 a.m. Subject states that he went directly from the Big Star to Dickerson's and directly from Dickerson's home to Pleasant Drive where he went to bed until about noon on the second. See file.

February 19, 1998

1:46 p.m. anonymous call ìsome graves are big enough for two to skate inî. Call location identified as pay phone outside of Abner's restaurant at 430 S. Lamar Blvd. Dispatched patrol officer to location. No witnesses to call. Secured for processing. 1:50 p.m. criminologist arrived on scene, dusting produced no identifiable latent prints.

2:20 p.m. arrived on scene St. Peter's Cemetery. See Incident Report.

Statement from Jonathan Giles indicates the access road gates are left open and unlocked. No reports of any unusual activity. States that it is not uncommon for night visitors to the cemetery, particularly visits to Faulkner gravesite which is checked daily to clean of debris (usually beer bottles). Mr. Giles states that the grave could easily have been hand dug as the grave was back-filled by backhoe on January 31st. Several weeks are allowed for settling prior to addition of topfill.

Search of St. Peter's grounds and surrounding canvas produced no witnesses or evidence in addition to Incident Report. Check of list of burials shows no obvious relation to case. Check of six deaths, all natural causes, no individual under age 68.

February 20, 1998

4:30 a.m. notification of family.

9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Coroner's office, attended autopsy of Crystal M. Taylor 10:00 a.m., attended autopsy of Dale J. Taylor at 11:30 a.m. J. Johnson confirms cause of death, manner homicide. Victim Crystal Taylor was possibly murdered and transported to St. Peter's, was not murdered in the grave. Victim Dale Taylor was most probably shot standing in the grave and buried immediately.

Review of videotaped interviews with family conducted on February 5 show no visible signs of injuries, cutting wounds, scratches.
