Incident Description:
Mr. and Mrs. Taylor came to the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's office in person to report their son Dale and daughter Crystal missing.

Subjects, Dale and Crystal Taylor were last seen by Mr. and Mrs. Taylor on February 2, 1998 at approximately 3:10 a.m. at their home 103 Pleasant Drive, Oxford. They explained to me that Dale and Crystal were scheduled to take the 4:16 a.m. Magnolia Transit shuttle to the Memphis airport to meet American Airlines flight 1439 to Colorado. Dale and Crystal were scheduled to attend a two week training program from February 3rd through 17th, staying at the Broadmoor hotel. The Magnolia Transit tickets and American Airline tickets were purchased on January 20, 1998. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor have been requested to provide a copy of the credit card purchase receipt. Dale and Crystal were to pick up the shuttle at the Big Star grocery pick up point in the Eastgate Shopping Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor state that their son, Shane Taylor, age 23, brother of Dale and Crystal, residing at 103 Pleasant Drive, Oxford, drove the two to the Big Star pick up location for Magnolia Transit leaving the residence at approximately 3:10 a.m. The Taylors report that Shane dropped them off and returned home.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor state that it is not unusual for the pair to wait a day or so to call home when traveling. They became alarmed when they had not heard from either Dale or Crystal by the end of the day yesterday. They called the Broadmoor hotel this morning and found that the two Taylors had not checked in. They have confirmed with the local training center contacts that the two have not registered or been seen in training. They have been unable to confirm whether the two were on the Magnolia Transit shuttle, but have confirmed with the airline that the two never boarded their flight.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor state clearly, and are adamant that the two would not voluntarily disappear. There is no history of unexplained absences or failure to contact. They state they have no theories or reasons for the disappearance. They do suspect foul play.

Initial Follow-up Investigation:
This investigator has confirmed with Ms. Lila Grant that Magnolia Transit does not retain passenger manifests, but that the drivers maintain their records for 90 days. She was unable to confirm whether Dale and Crystal Taylor were on the 4:16 a.m. shuttle to the Memphis Airport on February 2, 1998. She provided the driver information for that run. The driver was Roger Jetton of Memphis. A phone interview with Mr. Jetton confirms that the Taylors did not board the February 2, 1998 shuttle at the Big Star pick up point. I have confirmed with American Airlines that the Taylors did not check in and obtain boarding passes, they are not listed on the scheduled flight to Colorado Springs. The tickets purchased January 20 have not been used or refunded. An interview conducted with Shane Taylor indicates that he did drive Dale and Crystal to the Big Star pick up point and dropped them off at approximately 3:30 a.m. Shane states that he returned home and went back to bed by 3:45 a.m. There was a verbal altercation among the siblings on the way to the Big Star which warrants further investigation. Preliminary interviews indicate that there were no witnesses present at the Big Star. At this time we cannot verify that Dale or Crystal were waiting for the bus at the Big Star. Photographs of Dale and Crystal are being printed for canvassing.

This case be will be investigated as a potential CAPS case. Indications are that foul play may be involved.
