Results of Preliminary Examination:

Item# 012702-0001 -- This item is a Case lockback knife, stainless steel blade, brushed aluminum handle. Blade length measures 3 7/8 inches from tip to hilt.

Blood is present on the blade and handle. Typing and karyotype results are consistent with samples for Crystal M. Taylor.

Prints found include a right index and middle finger positively identified as those of Dale J. Taylor.

Samples submitted for DNA analysis.

Item# 012702-0002 -- This item is a men's navy blue all weather jacket with black watch plaid lining. Heavily stained with blood which is consistent with that of Crystal M. Taylor through typing and karyotype. No samples were found that were inconsistent with that of Crystal M. Taylor.

Samples submitted for DNA analysis.

Per agency opinion request: It is this examiner's opinion that items # 12702-0001 and -0002 are involved in homicide case number 129152-36A-1998 -- Taylor.
