HIS BODY LANGUAGE SEEMS TO BE SAYING(3) "CAREFUL HERE"AND HE SEEMS TO BE USING(4) HIS "FRUITCAKE SIDE TO WHAT EVER HE DOES NOT WANT TO ANSWERE.
HE CAN'T REMEMBER HIS AGE OR BIRTH YEAR! PLEASE..... AS WELL AS OTHER THINGS BECAUSE HE HAS SLEPT SINCE THEN!!!!HELLO.
MYSELF I THINK THIS DAVE IS PLAYING GAMES WITH YOU.
MAYBE SHANE TOSSED/SOMEONE TOSSED THE SHOTGUN INTO THE PIT.
IN THE INTERVIEW THERE WAS NO MENTION OF HIS LAWYER BEING PRESENT,BUT THEN HE STATES,SOMETHING TO THE FACT HIS LAWYER SAID TO TELL YOU THAT THE SHOVELS DOES NOT ENDORSE MURDER ECT,ECT,ECT.
AND KIDS DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME WE ARE PROFESSIONALS.

Response: 1) We doubt Dave Woolworth or Ego Shovel are ingesting toxic waste, toxic drugs maybe. 2) We are investigating the diary information. 3) Tucker Baines may have used less than the best judgement in returning home with the skate bag, however, he had already touched it and so had his dog, Bo. I know people are probably going to think that I am a complete idiot, but would someone please help me out here? ok..sister gets it with a blade at the dixie place. But she gets it by the pizza dude..that was goin to make pizza.. yeah.. and then Dale is forced to carry sister to the grave. Mr. Pizza pulls a shotgun from his car, (that he mightve used to transport both in to the cemetary)... and makes Dale dig it... then shoots him.

The Pizza dudes car should be inspected for any traces of blood..and note the color and makeof his car.

And lets convict Dad based on the evidence in the diary for child abuse..and let him spend 200 years with bubba...Dont drop the soap!

1. How could the owner of a pizza shop identify Reebok shoes in the dark? He should remember something else like the boy's hair color,etc
2. Does Christian know Shane well? Both play music and Sometimes Christian goes to studio, so they might me good friends.

My opinion:
Like many people I feel Dale killed Crystal. Even her father abused her I don't think he killed her. But I hope you get evidence of abuse and put him in jail. I'm sure her mother was aware of (and denied) what was going on. Let's say Dale killed Crystal. But according to the blood pattern from his clothes he didn't carry her to the grave. someone else was with Dale. He didn't have many friend, only Christian? Please show the photo of his car to the witness. You should dig more about Christian because he has a nerve of a killer. The murderer of Dale could be anyone. My guess is the person who made a phonecall to police.

Response: It is possible that the degree of detail that Mr. Kapaneko provided was influenced by news reports of the missing duo which included a description of the clothing they were wearing. Christian and Shane do not know each other well, they know each other. Thanks for the suggestions.

Okay, so Crystal was being molested by her father. Thats horrible, sickening, etc, etc.... But does that mean he killed her and/or Dale? Lets not jump to conclusions until we get some more information!

Well, I think Dale chased Crystal to the back of Dixie Bar-b-q and stabbed her while Shawn was still there.Shawn took Dale and Crystals body, to the graveyard. Shawn made Dale dig the grave and the dirt being packed tighter may suggest that dale was in the grave packing it down. He may have been on his knees covering her, Shawn killed Dale from just above him as Dale was bent over,thus, no blood on his shoes or clothes. Shawn knew that if Dale was found out, that his dads past would come out in court. I think that while the bus was there, that they waited, hoping not to be noticed, and left after the bus pulled out to go bury the body. Shawn didn't arrive at Ego Shovel until later than they say since they were guessing at the time. Do you really want to take Dave's word for the time? He did say that Shawn had mud on his shoes. We can't be sure he picked it up at Ego Shovel and the parents have no idea what time Shawn got home. i'd like to know the make of cars that they own.

Response: Neither of the Taylor family cars are dark, two door hatchbacks. We are looking for the vehicle seen by Kristi Dawes.

It seems obvious to me that Daddy's close relationship with Crystal was sexual. Crystal strongly suggests, if not bluntly states, that she was molested by her father. She also says that Dale didn't care. In the fews months prior to their departure, it seems that Dad and Dale got very close, according to Crystal. Crystal also comments about her mother's drinking increasing, which also points to her mother knowing, but being in an alcoholic denial. It is also stated by more than one party in interviews that neither had time for relationships of the romantic nature. However, the coroner stated that Crystal was sexually active. VIA DADDY! I think Crystal's father was very pushy about their skating and Dale knew he was nothing without his sister. He also wasn't good in school, VIA Christian's admittance of doing his classwork. It seems Dale didn't really have any other avenue in life but skating. If Crystal left him, then he'd be nothing. Also, maybe Det. Nelson should ask Christian about a possible homosexual relationship with Dale. I mean, come on, two guys going to see Titanic together??? Dale threatened Crystal with death if he ever left him. So here's what happened.

After Shane argued with Dale and Crystal, mostly Crystal at the end, he felt bad and went out and smoked a joint with Dave to vent out his frustration. Then, we switch back to Dale and Crystal. After the fight, Crystal's thoughts of leaving Dale and going to college become vocal. Dale erupts in anger and kills Crystal. Not knowing what else to do, he calls dad, and tells him what has happened. Dad acts calm at first, and comes to where Dale has stashed Crystal's body. A few hours had passed after Crystal's death, according to the coroner, this suggesting that perhaps, Daddy had time to find a shotgun that couldn't be traced back to him. Acting calm for Dale, but really furious because he loved Crystal in a romantic way, he came to where Dale was. Dale was expecting Dad to help out, so he would've, at any time, turned his back because he trusted dad. I believe the cut on Dale's hand was from killing his sister. The blood in his shoes is from walking in her blood, perhaps pacing, to figure out what to do. Dad takes Dale to the Cemetary, and maybe the missing jacket is worn by Dale at this time, while he carries Crystal's lifeless body. They get to the grave, and Dad starts to berate Dale, and makes him dig the grave. While Dale's back is turned, Dad shoots Dale in the back of the head, and then buries him. Dad killed Dale with the rage of a jilted lover, and perhaps Christian was called also and Dad was upset at the revelation of Dale's homosexuality also. Dad feels guilty and either A) makes the call to the station himself, or B) makes a very upset Christian call. anyone in that state would sound differently, but either way it would explain why Mommy knew the voice sounded familiar.

The clues seem to point towards Dale killing Crystal. Also, when he was seen running by the witness, he was dirty/covered with dirt. Seems as if he also did some of the grave work (dug a grave and/or buried Crystal there.) So, let's assume Dale killed Crystal.

We also have a witness report of a small car, possibly black. Well, interestingly enough, Dale's friend Christian has a small GREY car. Who else would Dale call to help cover up the murder? Certainly not his family. So, let's assume this was Christian's car and Dale called Christian after murdering his sister.

Now the question is who killed Dale. was it his friend Christian? Or another witness to these events. We'll soon find out.

As for the diary, I have to say I hope the father gets the next bullet. :)

How could Mr. Kapaneko identify a pair of black Reebok tennis shoes from a great distance in the semi-dark if he could not see the persons face clear enough to recongnize but knew that there was black smuges on his face?

Response: Agree that this level of detail may have been subconsciously filled in for Mr. Kapaneko from news reports of the missing duo. We do, however, believe that Mr. Kapaneko saw such an individual dressed similarly.

well let see if this murder is solved: the murder of crystal Taylor was commited behind the Dixie store she was stabbed to death by her brother Dale for 1. threatening to quit the skating pair and going off on her own. Dale murdered her on the spur of the moment after a fight in the car on the way to the bus stop with his swiss army knife. 2. Shane/Dale were aware of the abuse between Crystal & Jim. 3. Dale may have also been abused by Jim Taylor. 4. Dale was the teenager seen running from the scene. He fits the discription from the witness. The murder of Dale Taylor was commited by his brother Shane for the traveller checks and because of his jealousy of the 2.I feel he witnessed his sister being murdered by Dale and felt that this was the perfect opportunity. He fought with Dale & ended up shooting him. Shane then transported the 2 bodies in the trunk of his car to the graveyard (maybe Woolworth assisted him in this).
I also feel that the parents are aware of this and especially the mom she has "already lost 2 babies " she doesn't want loose anymore. jim Taylor is also aware of this iam sure he needs the 100,000 for legal fees his family will encounter

Response: We agree, the area behind the Dixie Creek BBQ, see search of Eastgate and diagrams, looks likely for the scene of Crystal's murder. We are investigating the new information that the diary brings to light. Shane's car was searched for forensic evidence and does not appear to have been used to transport the bodies. I think so far we can probably say that after Crystal and Dale got out of Shanes car, they either got in a fight with one another, or with someone else. This argument either sent Crystal running to the back of Dixie's or someone brought her there. At that point either Dale or someone else killed her. If Dale did it, he probably ran off to get help. If someone else did it, he probably ran to get away from them. After this point, I believe either Dale was caught and brought to the cemetary or found someone to help him and went there with them. If he did find help, who and why would that person then kill him? Dad-to keep it quiet, or because his son just ruined everything? Shane-It seems Shane and Crystal had a pretty decent relationship. Did he kill Dale because he killed his sister. One of the friends- Because they didn't want to be implicated? I think so far, pretty much everyone can be a suspect. More interviews are needed and I'd like to see a diagram of the mall, cemetary where they were buried, the houses of all parties and where the clothes were found to get an idea of how close/far they are from one another. Also, did anyone notice dad was VERY reluctant to take a lie detector test?
I also noticed a few times in the diary that Crystal didn't say a specific person she was afraid would molest her, she did say at one point that Dale wouldn't care if her dad etered her room. She also says at one point, "He said he thought we should all just come home and think about our mistakes. I really, really don't want to, but I hate him." She doesn't want to go home with her dad because she hates him? If you read that statement from Jan 13, it sounds like she wants to go home because she hates someone who was hurting her in Memphis. Could Dale have been molesting her also? When they are in Memphis with mom, maybe her drinking causes her not to watch Dale and Crystal as closely. Maybe Crystal feels safer at home because Shane watches out for her?

Shane Taylor said that they fought in the car on the way to the bus stop. What if Crystal and Dale were still fighting when Shane drop them off? Crystal decided to quit then and there and took off running. Dale caught up with her behind the Dixi Creek BBQ and he killed her. We can assume that the teenager the Mr. Kapaneko saw running was Dale. Where was he running to? Home to dad? What kind of car does mom & dad drive? Dale knew about dad and Crystal. If Dale was scared enough he would tell about them and dad could not have that! So, Did dad kill Dale to keep the silence?

Response: It is possible, we are looking into the issues and questions raised by the diary. Thanks for the comments.

Mom is obviously in denial about the sexual abuse and other emotional problems going on leading to her aperantly escalating drinking. Extended family interviews should be done to find out any further information about Mr. Taylor's "touching problems" and any background history on Mrs. Taylor's drinking tendancies. Also interviews with some of Mr. Taylors pupils at the ice rink may shed light on if he has problems with touching young people in general, or just his own.

I still think dads pervy tendancies and the social pressures of fame and reactions of his schoolmates have driven Dale into a repressed homosexual orientation. The Quentin Crisp quote in his only acknowledged friends condo, while thematically appropriate, is interesting from this perspective as well. The diary certainly paints Dale as being motivated soley by money and as not all that commited to his craft. Interviews with past coaches should be done to support this contention to help establish the correctness of the overall sense of things as represented in the diary.

This case seems to be developing nicely, I hope it doesn't get abruptly killed off (if you will pardon the pun...) like the Woodley case before it is brought to a satisfying conclusion...

hi there me again: i think you should re-interview Sandra Taylor again 1.if she did not have anything to do with the actual murders then she is covering up for her son &/or husband. 2. obviously she couldn't complete her interview when she was asked "if she had anything to do with it". The diary that was recovered seems to be helping solve this murder. Therory could Crystal been killed first and Dale
knew because she threatened to start skating solo. then during the heat of the murder Dale got nervous/anxious that would account for the defence marks on his hands. I still believe that someone very close to these kids killed them
i.e. mom/dad/shane knew

A few thoughts about the obvious incestous situation between Jim and Crystal Taylor..
Crystal writes in her Diary, entered 01/01/98, one of her resolutions being that she was going to get a boyfriend. Did Crystals father know about this? Perhaps he became insanously jealous because of this? Perhaps Jim found Crystals diary, and read about it?

Response: Dale and Crystal Taylor were declared missing on 2/5, they were discovered in St. Peter's Cemetery on 2/19. We are still in the midst of an active investigation. Check back for updated information on the case.

Wow ! It has been about a year and a half since I have been to this site. The top investigation was of Valerie Wilson. (back when we thought that these were real cases) :) Spent many nighttime hours "investigating". Anyways, great job and it is good to see that there are so many participants.

Laura P's Observations of the week:

1) Okay, from what is written in Crystal's diary, she was sexually abused by her father. That has to make him a suspect in the murder, and even if he is cleared, can the creep still be prosecuted for molesting his daughter even though she is now dead?

2) Another observation from the diary of Crystal Taylor: Dale treated her badly, and threatened her on occasion. In fact, Crystal seemed to feel much more afraid of Dale than she ever would of Shane. Maybe she was right to be...

3) The witness who saw the teenager running described a young man wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, and black Reeboks. What was Dale Taylor wearing that night? A white t-shirt, jeans and black Reeboks. The witness's account was not only accurate, but exact, down to the brand of the sneakers. When the kid was running like a demon down the street at around four in the morning. And even if this story was the biggest news the town had ever seen, a boy running down the street at night is not that much of a cause for alarm. Something about this story is suspicious, the witness had to have had a closer look at the boy, in order to know so much about what he was wearing, and to connect that seemingly innocent event with this murder case.

4) In the listing of evidence, nothing was mentioned about recovering the traveler's checks from the luggage. Were they missing, or just not included in the report? Any chance of tracing them, if they were cashed?

5) When oh when will Detective Nelson reply to the comments posted here?

Response: The diary does open up new avenues of investigation, agreed. Mr. Kapaneko came forward in response to news articles asking for information on the case. While we believe his motives are good and he did see a youth running, it is possible that the detail of his description is influenced by news reports on the case. An inventory of items recovered with the luggage will be released shortly. A trace was placed on the traveler's checks and none have been cashed. Thanks for the comments.

Well, after reading the new info there is some intresting things to think about. First, the diary is extremelly intersting, I think dad was having his way with Crystal a while ago and she resented him for it very strongly. Second, the guns at the house, neither is a shotgun olny a .22 and a 30-30 both shot slugs Dale had bird shot in his wound, in any case a shotgun needs to be found. Third, the car that was seen by the witness needs to be searched for per the description. Fourth, the person seen running by the witness sounds like Dale, what could he have been doing there? But all in all the new evidence really doesn't look too good for dad nor for Dale (eventhough he is dead) and let's not forget about Ego Shovel. Thanks I look forward to any response.

Response: Agree the diary is interesting and opens up new lines of investigation. We are actively looking for both the shotgun and the vehicle described by witness Kristi Dawes. I have a couple of questions of the Taylor case.

1. If Dale was shot kneeling over,then how did his under clothes & socks get blood on them? Who's is it? Dales or Crystal's? or unknown?
2. Wheres the luggage? Why would the killer(s) leave the money in the wallets and take the luggage? The travelers checks were packed away(who would have known?).

Also,I think that both Crystal & Dale dug their own graves(?) They both had dirt encrusted under their nails.
I believe also that Dale was killed first,then Crystal. If it was the other way around Dale would have attcked the killer(s) while he (or she) was stabbing Crystal. Dale would more than likely been killed in an upright position. Even with two killers, Dale would have left some mark on them. Right?

Not that I think it's Shane who killed Crystal and Dale, but looking at a motive, I'd say that the $100,000 each insurance policies that Crystal and Dale had, would be enough to cover Shanes CD pressing and distribution..

In my last message I wrote:
1. The coroners report states " shot from above and behind." The graph shows the entrance wound at the bottom of the back of the neck and exit above forhead. That would mean he was shot from below and behind. Which one is correct?
When the coroner was interviewed during the chats she stated that the opinion was he was shot while bending over. Why is that what is thought? Was the bullet found in the grave? What evidence is there that that is how he was shot?

Response: The coroner states it is the track of the wound that leads to this conclusion. Lab testing results expected soon. Check back.
