Date/Time/Call Information

Disposition of Call

Saturday, 10/11/97 - 4:36 pm

Caller, Raymond Innis, San Antonio, TX, called. Claims he called two days ago and reported seeing Pierce in the area and says he deserves part of the reward. Checked the logs and find no call from him or his telephone number.

Reported call to Detective Nelson, Sheriff's office. He also said he had no record of any call from this man. Spoke to the 911 dispatcher just in case the call was routed to them. No such person ever called.

Followup: Since Pierce wasn't captured in San Antonio and the girl wasn't recovered, no reward is due anyway.

Sunday, 10/12/97 11:07 a.m.

Mr. R of Oxford called and said he is going to sue the Sheriff for not paying the reward to his wife for seeing Pierce in Charleston. I explained to him that Macy has not been recovered and Pierce is not in custody. Tried to get through to him that the "tip" was not valid information. Said he won't call again but his attorney will.

Information on possible lawsuit referred to Sheriff Lamar's office to handle.

Prior notation: Explained to caller that her information has not proved to be helpful to the investigation as there is no other corroborating evidence that the suspects were in Charleston and that to receive the reward, the information has to lead to the safe return of Macy Lamar. Caller is very upset and says the reward is "phony" but wants to remain in "contention."

Sunday, 10/12/97 4:16 p.m.

Madame Raylene called again. Said she conducted a séance last night and spoke to someone who has seen Macy on the "other side." However, she said that her "source" had not proved to be reliable in the past. She stated that she hears coins during the séances.

Explained that the reward is for information leading the safe return of Macy Lamar, which has not occurred and that there is no other information that Macy Lamar is deceased.

Relayed "tip" to Det. Nelson who laughed.

Wednesday, 10/15/97 10:53 am

Mr. D. of San Antonio, TX, states that he definitely saw the suspects in a mall in San Antonio. Has no idea what vehicle they are driving but states that Pierce, Symons, Phelps and Macy Lamar were in Baskin-Robbins buying ice cream on 10/7/97 at about 8:00 pm.

Advised caller that Phelps is dead, but that I will pass on the information. Call referred to Detective Nelson for followup.

Followup notation:Det. Nelson said he contacted caller and information was not related to this case. Two men and two women do not match andy descriptions of the suspects/victim.

Thursday, 10/16/97, 11:30 p.m.

Harry W. of Henderson, NV said he owns a shop called Play It Again Sam. Said a man fitting Peirce's description came into his store. The suspect bought two sets of clothing, one for a man and one for a woman. He said he went outside for a smoke as the man was driving off. Said it was a van, but did not get the license number

Called Det. Nelson at home. He said he would come down here.Det. Nelson called the witness and talked to him for some time but got no additional information. We then contacted the Las Vegas Police Dept. the Clark Co. Sheriff's office and the Nevada Highway Patrol. FBI Special Agent Stremcha was brought in. We faxed pictures of Pierce, Symons and Macy Lamar, as well as a description of the stolen van and the license plate number. We have been in touch with those agencies ever since. Agent Stremcha is flying to NV.

Friday, 10/17/97, 2:16 p.m.

Madame Raylene made her regular Friday call to this office. Says she held a séance again last night and saw Caroline Lamar weeping over Macy's grave. Said Pierce will die violently. Said she sees dollar signs around Victoria Symons. Call took 45 minutes this time.

Call information referred to Detective Nelson, Sheriff's office.

Follow-up Notation:

Detective Nelson said just to write the call information down and send it over. No follow-up at this time.
