Likely in possession of a light blue short sleeved Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Deputy shirt with the insignia of the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department, emblem patch on right front pocket and left arm sleeve taken from scene.
 
WEAPON: Subject believed to be in possession of Sheriff's department .357 magnum handgun removed from the scene.
 
LAST SEEN: 3:35 pm Saturday, September 20, 1997 Oxford, MS escaping scene of accident of Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's van Jackson Avenue West, Oxford, MS. Accident occurred in transport from the Yoknapatawpha County Detention Center, Jackson Avenue to the Metro Narcotics Offices jail facility on North Lamar Avenue, Oxford. Escaped in conjunction with fugitive Anthony Marcus Phelps, see Fugitive Alert Bulletin # W-12897.

Subject is believed to be traveling with Victoria Lee Symons, see Fugitive Bulletin # W-12997 in a brown 1986 Buick LeSabre. Symons was last seen at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 1997 Amite, LA at Heritage Inn, Highway 16 and Highway 51.

Edward Arthur Pierce was located in Las Vegas, NV 10/17/97 and died in a gun battle resisting arrest.
 
There is a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to the apprehension of the subject.
