Polygraph conducted by Jackson Detection Services, Inc. under the auspices of the FBI Jackson Field Office, Special Agent Donna Hillman at the subjects request. Caroline Blanchard is desirous of eliminating herself as a possible suspect in the disappearance of her daughter, Macy Lynn Lamar.

Examiners Summary:

At the request of the FBI Jackson Field Office a polygraph examination was administered to Caroline Allen Blanchard in our offices on October 10, 1997. The examiner, Darrel K. Moffet, is a fully licensed and accredited polygraph examiner with advanced training and 15 years intelligence experience.

The purpose of this specific issue examination was to determine Ms. Blanchard's veracity with regard to the following issues: 1) whether or not Ms. Blanchard saw her daughter, Macy Lynn after they went to separate stores in the Mall, 2) whether or not Ms. Blanchard has heard anything from or regarding her daughter, Macy Lynn's disappearance since her disappearance, 3) if Ms. Blanchard has any knowledge of the disappearance, 4) if Ms. Blanchard was involved in the disappearance, 5) if Ms. Blanchard was responsible for the disappearance, 6) if Ms. Blanchard is responsible for the death of Macy Lynn. Ms. Blanchard signed an examination statement acknowledging that the test is voluntary, she could stop anytime, and anything she says can be used against her.

The examination consisted of four separate phases totaling approximately four hours. The first phase was a comprehensive conference with Special Agent Donna Hillman obtaining a complete history of the case background. The second phase, the pretest interview, during which the examiner discusses the issue under investigation, thoroughly reviews all of the test questions that will be asked during the examination, and assesses the individual's emotional and physiological suitability to take the test, was conducted with Ms. Blanchard and lasted approximately one hour. The third phase consisted of a series of four tests, during which the subject's physiological responses were recorded as the answers to the set of pre-established questions were posed lasted approximately one hour. The final phase, the review and interpretation of the polygraph charts, from which the conclusions are drawn lasted approximately one hour.

The examination technique employed was an MGQT type examination. This examination technique is employed to permit independent review, evaluation and verification by other examiners who are not present during the examination. Four polygrams including a demo test were administered. The polygrams were independently reviewed and evaluated by another qualified polygraph examiner who reached consistent conclusions.

After careful analysis of the polygrams, it is the examiners opinion that Ms. Blanchard was truthful in her response to the relevant issue questions. There were no reactions indicating any attempt at deception. The accuracy of the results of this test by computer&endash;based analysis returned a posterior probability of truthfulness of .984 in the first series, a .986 in the second series, and a .985 in the third series in keeping with the standard accuracy of 98% for these tests.
