Witness Address: Neptune Garden Apartments, 1180 Neptune Street

I called you all because I wanted you to know I think I saw that child, Macy Lamar. The sheriff's daughter, yes, Macy is her name. Anyhow, I'm retired, so most days I'm just here in the condo, I just tidy up and feed the cats every morning and then I usually watch TV or read, John Grisham is my favorite, but I like Tom Clancy too. For lunch I usually stay at home but once a week I get together with Marie, she's a friend of mine - we meet and just have lunch out somewhere nice downtown. So that's what I was doing this morning - I was getting ready to go out, just upstairs in my room putting things in my navy purse to match my slacks, and I heard a door slam real loud and lots of footsteps.

I'm the curious type, myself, so I looked out the window, my window looks out over the parking area. There was this black car there, the kind with dark windows like a limousine, except it was normal size, it was just a Caddy I think. Three people were hurrying toward it from apartment 3A, it's been empty since Milton and Enid moved to Florida, but I guess in the past week or so I'd noticed the lights on there sometimes so I thought there must have been someone new living there. Anyhow, these three folks were coming out of 3A and heading to the black Caddy, I don't know if it was a Caddy but I'm pretty sure it was American. It was two fellows and this young girl, Macy. You could tell they were sort of hurrying, walking along and not looking around, just heading toward the car.

They were almost there when the girl Macy, she sort of tripped and fell, I can't tell what she tripped on. Anyhow, she went over and yelled "Ow!" really loud. The two fellows were already pretty much in the car, they told her to hurry up, they didn't come check to see if she was OK - I though that was pretty strange, a pretty girl like that and they didn't even want to help her. Macy, she stood up very slowly, and then she turned around in a circle, like she was looking for something, maybe she was thinking of going back for something. Then she stopped and spread her arms out really wide, and turned her face up, and spun around in a circle again, real slow, I don't know what she was doing. Then one of the fellows began getting out of the car again, telling her to hurry it up or he'd have to help her along, and she walked right to the car, but slowly, not in a hurry, and she wasn't limping either. She got in and the car drove off.

I know I should have written down a license plate or something but I didn't, even though right then I knew it was her. I've seen her pictures so many times on TV and she looked just the same, maybe a little paler, but it was the same hair and everything. She was wearing mostly black, that seemed to match too, just some black tight pants,I guess you call them leggings. She had a black T-shirt on and a dark sweater, a cardigan, I think it might have been dark green but I couldn't tell. She had white sneakers on and no socks, I remember that because I was looking to see if maybe she'd sprained her ankle. I don't remember if she had a purse. The fellows were dressed like her - real casual, just jeans and plain shirts, polo shirts I think. I didn't really notice them, because they hurried along and got in the car pretty quick.

After the car drove off I called in to that tip line I'd heard about, and then I called Marie and told her we better have lunch at my place, because I was pretty sure you all would be stopping by.
