Incident

Response was made to Tucker Allison residence in Taylor with back-up patorlman Scott Vittel. Allison had reported vandalized property near Taylor Creek. Officers escorted to the scene by Allison's son, Freddy Allison, who found it with friend, Melissa Bridges. The area looked like the site of a ritual. After exploring and recording the site, officers walked down the creek to look for more clues. Much farther down a bucket containing a head was found at 1635 hours. Victim unidentified. Vandalized area and bucket site were cleared and roped off. Crime scene team called in, and they responded at 1700 hours.

Responding crime scene team: A.J. Mills, Maurice Falcon, Tony Hibbetts.

Descriptions

Site A (Vandalized site):

The site, 26.4 ft. length x 19.7 ft. width, was on the edge of Allison's property, in a wooded area. It was cleared of leaves and grass, and there is a tree on eastern edge; located 25.3 ft. west of Taylor Creek, which runs north and south. CR 323 intersects creek 114 yards south of site.

In the middle of the site was campfire remains. Fire measured 3 ft. in diameter and 1.8 ft. tall. In the middle of the fire were ashes and wooden crate, which was 70 percent burned. The wooden crate measured 32 in. long, 15 in. wide, and 11 in. deep. Box was mostly burned but appeared to be made of pine strips with rope handles. The fire was built so that perp. faced north or south. Facing south, two empty rum bottles were cast off to right side of fire, about two feet apart. Past fire on the left, 6.3 ft. away, was chicken carcass. Remains were significantly decomposed. Chest and neck appear to have been sliced. Level of decomp. suggests 3-4 weeks old.

Minimal streaks of blood found in crevices of bark, scattered 3-4 ft. up from base of tree on the edge of site, near chicken carcass. Samples taken from bark for further examination.

Beyond the cleared area, 14 ft. south, was a ball of black wax, (4.5 in. diameter) the size of a grapefruit. A sliver of paper was sticking out of the wax, and it looked to be imbedded in the wax. Ball was taken to the lab for further examination.

Footprints by Melissa Bridges and Freddy Allison, as well as officers involved were mapped and are herewith attached to this report.

Site B (Location of human remains):

Officers followed a path leading from the site to the CR 323. On the other side of CR 323, officers noticed the trail resumed and followed 163 yards south of the bridge. There the officers spotted a yellow and white plastic bucket marked AquaChem. Appeared to be an oxidizer for swimming pool treatment. The bucket was planted in an oak stump (18 inches across, 1 ft deep) on the west side of the creek, along the shallow bank. Bucket was 19 inches deep and sealed, and it protruded 7 in. from stump. No footprints were in vicinity.

Inside bucket was the head. Strong chemical fumes along with decomposition. Bucket was taken to lab for further examination. No clues found in surrounding area.

Container was resealed and patrolman Scott Vittel was left in place to guard the area and container until removal to Coroners Office for further examination.

Victim:

Head was severely corroded. Visible skin is black and blistered. Identification, gender, age undetermined in the field. A lot of white hair was visible floating on top of solution, and when officer Nelson attempted to lift the head up by the hair for closer identification, the handful of hair gave easily in hand and officer pulled out a big chunk of scalp. Officer Nelson sealed the bucket for more careful examination at the lab.
