Hey Trick!

Guess you and I will be talking much more now because the AG is going to review the Vilson/Giblini case next week.

I know you're thinking it is a bit early for the suits to get interested in the case, but some things have developed in our organized crime research that may tie to your case.

And so, from the book (vol. x, sec. C, a. 12):

In 1986, Mississippi voters endorsed the establishment of the Office of Statewide Prosecution by approving a constitutional amendment. The only office having the jurrisidction to investigate and prosecute organized crime and major felonies that cross judicial circuit boundaries in the state.

The office has had the responsibility of prosecuting cases involving money laundering, large scale drug smuggling, and odometer fraud. The office is authorized to direct applicable sheriff and police department investigations relating to the aforementioned crimes.

Pay particular attention to the part that says "direct applicable sheriff and police department investigations." Get it out and read it for yourself if you have to.

I can't say much now, except I have a feeling that this may be similar to the State of Minnesota v. Granite Gate Resorts case I told you about months ago. Our friends in California suspect that William Giblini may have gotten his startup capital by working part-time for the other side.

Because these guys are computer savvy, I'm going to have ask you to close down the Crime Scene on the WWW until we have a finding from Judge Jed Red on this one. JR was very insistant that you can leave the disscussion area up, for free speech reasons. Can you believe it?

Sorry to keep you in the dark about all this, but I couldn't say anything officially (or even confidentially to an old friend) until now.

Respectfully,

Fred Quimby
Office of Statewide Prosecution

P.S. Janney shot her first buck last week!
